Lesley Ryan will present an in-depth exploration of coloured pencils as a dynamic artistic medium, highlighting their growing recognition in the art world following a Dobel prize win by a coloured pencil artist. The program will cover essential materials such as paper and pencils, various drawing techniques, improvisational approaches, and mixed media applications. Participants will also learn how to draw on unique surfaces including drafting film and clay. Attendees are encouraged to bring a set of artist-quality coloured pencils (a minimum of 24 is recommended), along with cartridge paper, an eraser, masking tape, magic tape, and a pencil sharpener. Lesley will supply some materials for use during the session.
